TV != Games as far as Ads go.
One of the artist who worked on the game posted this elsewhere where I brought this topic to attention:

Doesnt impact your game experience at all.
Sure it wont work in a fantasy game. But any game with modern setting can use them effectively without bothering the player I don't think.
I do however no know what/if Gatorade actually paid EA for that

I on the other hand know that they did get paid for these ads.
