Some things I've noticed:
Many flash games sites get income only from advertising. PC games are harder to advertize in because you might not be connected to the internet, so you can't just click and buy stuff, and the ads can't update. But pc games platforms like Battle.net where you have to be online, have an ad banner on top that seems to work well. As we move more towards the internet we're going to get more advertizing in games.
