Realbasic stops looking impressive when you actually start to write code with it. The IDE is for GUI Designers, not for people who actually want to -WRITE- code.

If you're happy with Realbasic's point-and-click approach, fine. If you want to have control over your source code and -gasp!- want to scroll through your -entire- source code, this thing will haunt you away quickly, because it can't do it. I've never seen something like that before. Even the old Visual Basic could do that.

However, if you are happy with that and need a tool that let's you create (cross platform) GUI apps quickly and that has a bunch of built-in components, usable database connectivity, commercial technical support and a good supply of commercial third party tools and components, Realbasic is for you. Just make sure that you always have a valid subscription.

The size of the executables: Who the hell cares about that these days? Memory is cheap and so is bandwidth. Microsoft and Apple push entire CDs as updates to their software over the Internet. So, honestly, who cares?
