It's amazing to me how many people have this "you can't do anything about it, so don't worry about it", "one man can't make a difference" attitude nowadays.

If I took the "there's nothing you can do" attitude, when I was younger, I'd still be a poor black guy who didn't have anything, didn't have a 20+ year career making videogames (and counting) and hell, if everybody just took a "fuck it, there's nothing I can do" attitude, we could all just go back to being enslaved warring nations, no internet, no freedoms, no chance for the little guy to overcome and succeed.

It really saddens me. That's not the world I've ever wanted to live in.

Piracy is only a small part of it, but every little bit counts.

I read in an indie gaming blog how a guy was really happy to sell 2000 copies of his game. 2000 copies?!? Where I come from (retail), 2000 copies is nothing, but to that guy, 2000 copies was everything and meant whether he continued living his dream making games or not. You don't think that 1-2% is a big deal, but it could be *the thing* that makes the difference, really.
