why should developers "get mad" if their work is being downloaded by lots of people?
What do you do for a day job? If you were a plumber would you fix pipes for free? Besides, you WANT to give it away for nothing. Nothing at all wrong with that.
Downloading copywrited material is certainly not immoral. Copywrite law most definately is.
Depends what you use the material for, im personally not against downloading but if you like what you download or use it then you should show some respect for those that made it, otherwise its stealing, simple as that. (unless just "cheekily borrowing it for proper evaluation" or simply doing it for cd/dongle replacement/convenience which IMO is not theft)
