I can't get ReactOS it install on any piece of hardware I have, even old hardware.

The problem with Linux is that there's no true standard. You have all these various distros doing there own thing in there own way. As for Mac's you should be asking how many people are dual/tripple (OSX/Windows/Linux) booting on mac hardware.
