I had a similar problem after about 3-4 months but then it seemed to get a bit better. Its still way slower than when i first installed it (and its only got about a hundred apps installed) hardly any 'services' except the essentials. It also takes a looong time to boot up and shut down (about the same as "established install" XP times)
Big bloats on the windows folder here too. (10GB+) not sure how big barebone vista is supposed to be so mabe this is normal.
