Particle Candy -worth it?

I was just wondering what your opinions are on Particle Candy for Blitz3d, http://www.x-pressive.com/ParticleCandy/ How is the support, functionality, and overall rating you give it?

I'll be using it for a 3d U-boat simulation so you know what i plan on using it for.

It's not a wallet breaking decision, but if there is something better out there, I'd like to know before I purchase this.
