My experience with Vista thus far :
I had to bloody buy my mom's new PC a router because it didn't like the USB connection to a cable modem that worked fine on her previous XP machine.
(that and the whole network config is a total mess in Vista, 50 more clicks than needed)
Otherwise, Vista wasn't as bad as I'd have thought in terms of setting it up, and it boots up fairly quickly once it's actually inside the OS.
(unlike my XP installation which takes 3 minutes afterwards to set everything up)
If I had a preference in OS it'd have to be Leopard though, it's just leaps and bounds better than anything I've used before.
(just a shame I have to use XP for all my games/software still)
