Ghislain, I believe the problem actually lies with the FreeType module, as it is crashing with the default BlitzMax one for me too.
However, using the latest FreeType library, it works as expected.

If you want I can post the updated FreeType module for you to test with... and then perhaps we can see if BRL will update the "official" mod :-)
