My problem with Linux is that I find no real benefits from running Linux over Windows and lots of negatives. There is a tiny number of useful applications that are Linux only.
Most people i know who regulary uses both (and know both well) say quite the opposite, once configured the way you want it, it stays like it. Theres no post login crunching, no viruses or spyware so to speak, better security, i have never had an unrecoverable kernel crash in 3 years, its faster and smoother, easy to backup etc.
Also, linux has a massive app-base, plus the added advantage of being able to run many major windows and unix progs, so theres usually a perfectly good alternative (or the real thing, i use PSP, PS and a few other windows apps under it).
Each to their own i guess. And yes, i too would boot out osx if i had a mac, or at least make it my non primary.
