@Grey: Search&Replace could do the trick. However, this might break code on your users side. On the other side, private functions/fields shouln't be called so much from an app, right?
You can use Private/Public only to hide functions/types, but like stated above only complete types, not a single function inside a type. I use it to hide helper functions (like Pow2Size and such) and OS API declarations.
