The Amiga mostly destroyed the Atari ST with far superior built in audio and graphics capabilities.
I had both and switched to the Amigs within a year for those very reasons, and so did many others. The PC then started to get more attractive games, doom came out, photoshop for the PC destroyed anything the Amiga had to offer and apple sucked.
In my case the only choice for me in the mid 90's when I finaly gave up on the amiga was the PC. Wasn't interested in 2D graphic design, PC had softimage, and 3dsstudio plus all the best games, and photoshop came out about the same time and was easier to use than the mac if you were juggling floppy disks a lot.
