I'm sure there is a simple solution to this issue that I have overlooked, so I hope this doesn't sound to juvenile.
I loaded sounds (created in Microsoft Sound Recorder) in .wav format into my game, and they sound distorted when played through the game. On Sound Recorder, the playback sounds fine. I already made sure the files were re-formated to the highest quality ("CD Quality", PCM 48.000 kHz, 16 bit, Stereo) and it doesn't seem to make a difference.
