Hi Mark :-) Agreed on the money making update but Vista isn't going away. As developers and users we do not have a choice and its pointless fighting it so I tend to invest energy in working with it early on.
I've noticed the 8800 cards eat vista up. Another issue with vista gaming being slower is actually memory. Turn off the fancy UI and I find its just as fast.
