If remember you said Vista is on a Fujitsu laptop ( let me know if I'm wrong ).
Does it have any Vendor specific software for managing Networking. Some machines come with such software that basically screws things up. I had to sort out a laptop that kept losing its wireless connection and in the end I turn off the Vendors roaming network feature.
