I'm really not a fan of wireless mice or keyboards.
Me either. All the Microsoft wireless kit I've tried ( two keyboards and three mice ) are universally rubbish. I'm told that Logitech are better, but I'm still dubious, particularly for gaming.
Well if the Logitech ones are better, Microsoft ones must be really poor. Both the times I've bought wireless peripherals, twice for Keyboard/Mouse, one for joypad - I've switched back to wired versions within months, sometimes weeks.
