For most of the LCDs i've seen i think the switching times are fast enough. My Sony is something about 6 or so years old now and it's a slow one but it never was an issue in an FPS i was playing. It's different but not a downside in my opinion, like with the old amiga 1081 monitors. They also were fluorescing after and actually it looked great if you played something like Archon with a black area in the background.
