I've got a Samsung TV too. And my monitor was a Samsung. So I really wanted to like the Samsung LCD but I just couldn't stand the horrible viewing angle issues. I might have gone with it if not for that.
My Samsung LCD TV has no such view angle issues though, and had the deepest blacks and best colors I could find on a TV at the time in that size.
Checking my TV against my monitor though with the same image on both, I'm surprised that the dark colors look better on the TV and the backlight seems a teeny bit darker, or at least more blue making it seem darker. Maybe I'll go back to Compusa where they have the monitors actually hooked up to PC's in a much dimmer light situation, and make sure I made the right choice, and that the viewing angles on all the Samsungs really do suck.
