Vector based rendering systems

By the way: has cairo a internal scene graph? Or in other words - is cairo real time able?

I would use vector graphics in some menus or other 2d applications.

And what is with http://www.khronos.org/openvg/ - is this only for embeded systems or can we use this on PCs too?
