Widescreen & Black Bars

I could be wrong, but I think the general idea of using this technique to avoid potential stretching, would be to first get the desktop screen ratio, if it's wide screen then possibly check available screen modes and then switch to the nearest wide screen mode available that allows your game to fit in it. Then center your game on that screen and draw any black bars as needed.

But I think I'm going to use the extra space if there is any, and render some graphics, fx, etc, instead of black space. Another way to think is to just code your game with 2 modes in mind, normal and wide screen. Then go through the various screen modes available. (Taken from the docs)
Print "Available graphics modes:"
For mode:TGraphicsMode=EachIn GraphicsModes()
 Print mode.width+","+mode.height+","+mode.depth+","+mode.hertz
Next

Put a few compatible modes in a list and let the end user configure how they want to play the game.
