It took ages. About 8 months if memory serves. However it was coded from scratch, and was at least an order of magnitude more complex than what Mr. Swift is proposing. Unless you're thinking about adding no polish whatsoever and not doing any tweaking of gameplay.
No. I was going to leave that to you, or someone else you can pay significantly less, to manipulate the underlying data structures the game relies on. There's no point in paying $150 USD for me to change arbitrary numbers around. You can get some school kid to do that (or leave it to the "modding community" whichever takes your fancy).
