xlsior: I can't imagine that (seemingly very) talented coders poring over their previous 16-bit incarnation of a compiler will introduce ugliness when porting to 32-bit.
Personally, I would likely spot more scope for optimisation. Granted, I would likely introduce a couple of stupid bugs which would need fixing, but I would make sure things worked better overall in the end :)
