Do you find people just find you annoyingly blunt? The black and white idea is interesting - I'll check it out.
This is my first foray into setting up a web page. My impression so far is that this webpage stuff is frustratingly finicky. I have a webpage guy at work I'll show it to him as well - he's bound to help sort it.
Personally I'd change the red outlines to be blue.

Also the design itself doesn't seem to scale well, but that that I like it.
