I'v been running Vista on one of my Bitch machines for a while now, its fairly well bloated out and its used for testing bad code and security issues.
I have to say that as long as its patched, the system is stable with my hardware, and secure, which is annoying for me.
I would always pick a PC over a Mac no matter what software your planning to run, its always going to be better in the long run, with more software on offer more options in terms of hardware and a lot more choice and bang for your buck, the PC kicks the Mac's ass.
