Honest opinions on Vista

I have been having a personal battle trying to decide whether I should get a Mac or a PC as my next computer as you may seen in another thread. Anyway after a bit of playing around with a Mac in my local Apple store and being very impressed I would now like to ask anyone who has Vista what they honestly think of it. It is the only thing that is truly stopping me from getting another PC. Am I worring over nothing? How does it perform and is it a step up from XP or not?

Any advice would be great,
