Hello.

I've just bought a laptop with vista home premium, set up IIS, installed SQL 2005 and tried to connect via ASP to the database.

The way I've worked previously is something like:
set cn = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection")
cn.ConnectionString = "blahblahblah"
cn.open
cn.close

No bleedin' joy there, let me tell you.

I've tried all manner of connection strings and googled trying to find the solution but to no avail - and I'm pretty convinced that it's my connection string that's the problem.

Can anyone help here?

The server (should) be 'jes-pc'
The database is 'dissertation'
Username is 'jes'

If anyone can tell me what the correct connection string is I'd be grateful.

Goodbye.
