I forgot who it was, but one of the big TV network execs at one point publically called FFding TV stealing from the networks, because by doing so they were violating some unspoken 'contract' since the TV networks consider the ads to be part of the 'deal' you sign up for. In their mind it should be illegal for customer not to hold up their end of the deal but still reap the benefit of watching the content.
