Sir Clive Sinclair was once convinced that the future of urban transportation was was a tinfoil shopping trolley with a couple of AA batteries which blew up when you went uphill.
But he was farsighted enough to provide the aforementioned vehicle with pedals, thus utilizing the additional power of human operator on particularly nasty and steep gradients.
