The 'gimmick' argument doesn't stand up because the controller is fully capable of providing all the input you get from a normal controller plus a lot more. And when that new stuff is used well you actually get new possibilities.
@big10p. I agree. I'm paid to design games for both consoles so I don't have an axe to grind. I'd hate to see Sony dominate though. I'd hate to see Nintendo or MS dominate too.
I just think a lot of the negative stuff about Wii is spurious at best. And a lot of the "PS3 will dominate" arguments are totally baseless. They may also be true but nobody seems to have any logical explanation and for the PS3 to overtake the 360 would take a massive turnaround.
