A 'decent' Amiga config was one where the accelerator card (an '030 in my case) copied the kickstart ROM into RAM (so you lost 0.5MB of usable RAM) to speed the OS up a bit.

I had 16MB in my Amiga 1200 and it was way more than I needed.
