I just 'retired' my desktop to under the stairs for a nice new laptop. I much prefer it, the only thing I would suggest getting would be a keyboard, mouse and stand, so you can basically make it into a desktop, looking down on a laptop screen hurts your neck after a few days (as its lower than a desktop monitor would be).
