I just rediscovered Brucey's BlitzMax module for the computer program battling game RealTimeBattle (at realtimebattle.sourceforge.net), and after actually reading its documentation I can see that it really is a great module! Far better than what I was going to come up with; this one is actually easy :)

These robots can be done in any language whose executables run in Linux. (Which is why I put this in General). It's just compiled programs using standard input / output. Come to think of it, it is probably possible to have a Windows program pipe its output over to a Linux box running the RealTimeBattle server, with some work...

Have you tried this? Do you have any robots to share?
