Half-Life to me has a great story in the same sense that Another World (Out of This World) had. It immerses you in a world where things make sense and you fill in some holes while you're playing... It's not really well written or original, but it does immerse you in the game and doesn't distract you while you're playing a great shooter... To me - it's perfection! I love HL2 for gameplay... For a story in a shooter see Max Payne. Nothing is wrong with it's gameplay, but let's be honest - in that aspect it's no rival to HL2...
