I've been using EditPlus ( http://www.editplus.com ) since, hmm, the dawn of time. Not only does it support syntax highlighting for approximately six billion languages, but it's small, fast, user-friendly and highly, highly customizable. Along with ThumbNailer from SmallerAnimals, EditPlus is one of the best software investments I've ever made.
