Lets be perfectly clear. Here are the 2 mages.

Mage 1
spells - fire, ice.
Mp - 56/56
HP - 125/125.
Equipment - basic staff, leather armor.

Mage 2
spells - fire, ice.
Mp - 56/56
HP - 125/125.
Equipment - basic staff, leather armor.

They sit on a grid like this: Mage 1 is 1 and Mage 2 is 2, the player is P.... O is an empty square.

OOOOOO
OO1O2O
OOOOOO
OOOPOO
OOOPOO

in this situation, everything is even. One of the Ps is weak against fire, the other weak to Ice.

Tell me, other than random or always going with fire first, which mage should use fire and which should use ice.

I don't want fire to always go first, cause that means when the mage has an even option, it'll always use fire first.

Lets make it more simple. There is one mage with both spells, and an enemy that is weak against lightning, fire and ice will deal the same damage. They cost the same to cast. Again.. you either always use fire, always use Ice, or randomly pick one... Or swap back and forth with requires keeping track of what was last.. which is kind of a waste of mem.

(I simplified the grid, equipment, and stats. They do not represent the actual game, just a basic obvious example)

I'm curious... If both spells cost the same, what difference would it have made who had more mana? Is there some rule in magic that says whomever has more mana gets to cast fire? I think not.
