it only uses random numbers when 2 things are even. Or in the chance that the AI is still too good picking the best move for the round.

Not for picking attacks at random.

Example. If the Enemy has 2 characters, both attack mages. The best move might be for one to attack with ice, and the other with fire. Which one should do which? This is a case where it being random isn't bad. But keeping track of that random value is key to makeing the same 'choice' when the future actually happens.

Also. Randomly picking between the top 2-3 best case options will add variety, unpredictability, and weaken the AI. I said I would only do that if it was still too strong. If It is too strong, that's terrible, adding some slight randomness expressly to weaken the AI, is acceptable.

I love how you all instantly assumed my Finite State Machine AI was a Final Fantasy 2 random-action-monster AI. Even tho I only mentioned Random in a few key locations.

Maybe it was from the future bit that you assumed the AI used randomness? You all do realize that things like "Will he hit me in the next round." and "how much dmg will it deal." are acceptable questions to ask?

Can you tell me another way to do hits and misses and picking how much damage it'll deal between the min and max damage values I told you about in the AI?

Those are random numbers, which have to be stored so you can repeat them.

You are just looking for holes in my design.. You won't find any. Not looking where there are none.

If you asked me about the storyline for this game, then you'd find holes, I only detailed a small part of it. An outline.
