Wii is what Wii is. You can't expect a tired horse to jump sky scrapers.
Pff, that's like saying Blitz3D is dead. It isn't. (Okay, it is to me and various submarine game making individuals, but people continue to make great things with it to this day!)It is true: The Wii so far has been viciously attacked by half-assed ports, visuals pulled straight from other consoles and just plain old bad graphics.
All those developers who said that they were "excited to develop for the Wii"? They're stupid. If you see a golden opportunity to develop something good, darn well do it properly y`idiots!
Games like Rayman and Mario Galaxy look great on the thing, but there is a lot of stuff that just looks like trash and should never have been made.
...Of course, that happens everywhere.
Anyway, I think it's all a bit of fun, relatively speaking. I didn't laugh, but I wasn't remotely angered. Actually, I was quite happy to learn this. It sure beats the usual way these days, which is ridiculous court battles and software patents!
Besides, I think Sony's end of the story is worse:
"Game website Kotaku reported that in Berlin, at a branch of the Saturn electronics store, 50 gamers got a free PS3 after smashing their Xbox 360 by throwing it off a wall."
Not only is it a complete waste generator (take 50 computers, burn them outside in an open fire watching the black smoke infect the air above you and then call yourself a good person), but it isn't funny either. (Oh boy, smashed plastic.)
Okay fine, Microsoft's barge probably burned piles of fuel during its little outing, but at least it had some reasonable purpose: To get that other ugly barge AWAY from that beautiful building!
