EVENT_MENUACTION should return the event source

On Mac the following code generates the MenuAction event :

PostGuiEvent( BBEVENT_MENUACTION,sender,[sender tag],0,0,0,0 );

Note the second field, which is the "source".
Which turned out to be rather useful - until I tried running it on Windows :-)
