I think I no longer enjoy playing 'big' games on the PC because of:
* Install, patch, configure, test, re-configure affair
* Stuttering, CD spinup (after no activity), or hard drive thrashing
* Total BSOD because the graphics card got too hot
* Random issues (key inputs buggered, mouse sticking, glitches, freezes, annyoing background pop-ups)
From my experience, PC's just can't cut it when it comes to playing the heavy stuff.
Too many things can stuff up.
Times I've returned to a game which, although it played great a week ago, is completely unplayable because something changed somewhere in the O/S. In which case I can't be bothered to spend another week trying to find out what and why.
