neilo: Granted, you can do some nice things with Word and Excel, but creating attractive layout is far easier with Publisher. I remember generating a nice layout for a delivery note with Publisher which refused to import into Word (correctly). It just seems that interoperability is not a very good feature with Publisher.
It does have VBA (I completely overlooked this!) so I guess it could either be driven from Excel, or just automated on its own. If there was the Publisher equivalent of "Professional Excel Development" by Bullen, Bovey and Green, I would certainly buy it.
I'll have to stick with Excel though, as my place of work won't install Access, let alone Publisher :-(
