Adobe CS2. Mindjet MindManager. I like MS Office (so sue me).
You can get all of those for the Mac.

As far as I know everything about it is beta or free at own risk and none claim to work, all disclaim any sort of responsibility for just about everything.
There are commercial Desktop Linux products available, like Linspire or Xandros you can try if you want. Ofcourse most PC owners only want to try the free, unsuported versions.

That seems to show a certain lack of faith, in my view.
Actually it's more a matter of lack of funds. Why would I want to help a bunch of freeloaders benefitting from my hard work? You want support, you have to pay for it (or join a LUG).

Might not be all that far away; Bill Gates got out of Microsoft (substantially) and he's no fool in general, something is going to be up soon and he knows it.
Maybe he just figures that since he has more money than god, he might aswell start enjoying it.

I'd like to see a user-friendly linux.
Here you go.

it seems like the performance edge (at least in certain areas, such as IOCP w/ TCP) can't be matched by Linux
Linux has "IOCP" from Kernel version 2.6 onwards. The just don't use buzzwords, and instead opted to call it epoll.
