I think it's a bit of a mess. Most people don't semantic;ly consider Strings as being Char collections. Also there are other types of Collections than the ones you've mentioned, (currently TList and TMap, but one could easilly imagine more comming later).
Instead I would simply propose that a parameter myArray:Int[] would accept any Int Array of any dimensions. "Cannot convert from Int Array to Int Array" is a somewhat meaningless error message.
