1. What do you think about Windows, Mircosoft in general and Vista.
Windows is a mediocre OS that does what it's supposed to, somewhat competently, and does what it's not supposed to rather well.Microsoft is a dangerous monopoly, and the sooner the DOJ breaks it up, the better for everyone.
Vista is a shining example of why Microsoft is dangerous. In 7 years, all they managed to acheive was "Catching up to MacOSX graphically".
You've heard of Windows XP embedded, no?
You've heard of QNX, no? So given that we have QNX, why would someone chose to use XPe? 2. What do you think about Mac, and its weak (yet good) position in the computing market?
Well that's a bit of a loadede question. I don't particularly care for the Mac, but Steve Jobs is an absolute genius, so I expect the Mac to pick up a lot of momentum in the next couple of years. But in the imortal words of Bill Gates "Noone cares that you have the best product Steve, noone cares". Let's just hope the market has changed significantly since the early 80's, huh? 3. What do you think about Linux?
Linux makes using a computer fun again. It#s small, light-weight and efficient. It does what it's supposed to do really well, and doesn't do what it isn't supposed to do at all. I switched to Windows while at Uni, because all the programs I needed (like Matlab) didn't have Linux equivalents. Now that I'm back in the software game, and there's a flavour of Blitz that actually works on it, I'm switching back.
