Thanks all for advice. The router is in a shed wired to a PC, and the wireless is used by a laptop in the house. She has a metal roof and current position gives poor signal in house. Plan to move router in shed to increase signal. Probably BT socket is shed is not master, can't get round that unless laptop is wired and PC is wireless - not so hot.
So anyway I'll extended the RJ-11 (from router to filter) because the router needs to be far away from phone socket, then I'll extend the network cable (RJ-45 straight thru) from router to PC as PC is not near router either! (bigish shed).
