dude if you don't like it don't use it and stop complaining about how it is a rip off of Mac OS X. it may be but no one is forcing you to use it
also OS X updates more often than windows. apple puts out a new version a lot more than microsoft. microsoft makes a new one every 4 or 5 years.
they also make it from the ground up for most sections of the OS well apple releases a different version of OS X with different features and changed parts of the API but it is still very similar to the last version. it is a good thing because it keeps getting better and better but you have to keep learning how it works.
also the one thing vista has over Mac OS X is DX10, even though i wish OpenGL would be used more. so vista will be more popular with gamers, well when more games require it.
and i have noticed people have been getting Macs more and more so i doubt apple will lose any business. and i have heard a lot of people complaining about vista's system requirements and they would rather stick with XP or go to linux/Mac OS X. so apple has nothing to worry about.
i know i am getting a MacBook Pro over a PC except for gaming(might get a Mac Pro and duel boot).
also ideas are being copied within indsutries all the time. sony copied some stuff from nintendo and nintendo copied the look of apple products for their consoles. they look really cool
