I have used both, but those saying DBPro is buggy or has compatiblity issues have not been using the latest version. Very solid overall (IDE BLOWs, but nice 3rd party ones out there). Its fast (now) and is updated often.
BRL hasnt updated B3d and it is doubtful we will see MAX 3D anytime.
Really there is only one choice unless you move to a Torque product
