I thoroughly dislike the syntax, but it's powerful and easy to use. I tried it out again recently to get my HLSL shaders running in a real demo. Took me about an hour to refamiliarize myself with the language, figure out how shaders work and write a normal mapping demo. I reckon that's pretty good. And the image quality was high, much higher than I remember from DB Pro. Things have improved. With a sane syntax and BMax-style language improvements, I'd seriously consider it over anything. As it is, I'd still probably take it over B3D, even if it meant writing my own little preprocessor to convert SaneBasic Pro code ( which would be my invention ) to DB Pro syntax.
