Oh well, I'm surprised no one mentioned Evolutionary algorithms: Computers that design bridges, girders, wing
shapes, etc all by themselves through the process of evolution. Survival-of-the-fitest-design and whatnot. Very
cool stuff.
Anyway, even with todays supercomputers, running these algorithms through multiple generations of designs can take
