BlitzMax needs to be run as administrator in order to compile anything.
Right click (on MaxIDE) -> properties -> advanced -> Run as administrator.
To get around this create a file called MaxIDE.exe.manifest in the base BlitzMax folder and add the following xml into the manifest file:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?> <assembly xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1" manifestVersion="1.0"> <trustInfo xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v3"> <security> <requestedPrivileges> <requestedExecutionLevel level="asInvoker" uiAccess="false"/> </requestedPrivileges> </security> </trustInfo> </assembly>
This should provide enough privileges to do stuff (quick test but not much more).
